Yes! Carpet and rug flooring is allowed in exhibitor spaces.

There’s no special approval needed as long as your rug:

• Lies flat and safely (ours do!)
• Meets standard fire code (ours do that too!)
• Stays within your booth footprint (don’t block walkways)
• Isn’t attached with adhesives that could damage the flooring

With all rugs, we recommend using a rug pad for added comfort and safety.

Yes, with a little flexibility! After browsing our convention selection above, submit your top 3–5 favorite designs.

We’ll do everything we can to match you with one of them, depending on availability. We recommend choosing a mix of bold, classic, and thematic designs just in case your first pick is already claimed. We’ll confirm your final rug closer to the event—but rest assured, they’re all conversation starters.

Yes! The rug is yours to keep—no strings attached. This is our way of thanking you for helping us spread the word and giving our designs a home in your booth.

We hope you’ll continue to use it in your store, studio, event booth, or game room long after Origins is over. We only ask that you help rep us during the convention by keeping the rug visible and sharing the small stack of promo materials we’ll provide.

We recommend a rug pad for all rugs—ours included—for both comfort and safety.

For the concrete floors at Origins, we suggest the SlipStop SuperGrip Cushioned Rug Pad. It provides both grip and comfort, and makes a long day of demos much easier on your legs.

On a budget? A simple non-slip rug gripper works just fine to keep the rug in place. It doesn’t add padding, but it will keep your rug from shifting—and you don’t even need a full pad. A small piece (about 20" x 32") placed under the center of the rug will do the trick. These typically cost around $4.

We'll be distributing rugs in person on the days of booth setup (June 17th and 18th).

Since we aren’t vendors this year, we won’t have access to the hall, but we’ll coordinate by text and arrange a nearby meetup spot that works for you.

Just lay it down in a visible spot in your booth and enjoy it!

You're not expected to pitch our rugs. If someone notices and compliments the rug, a quick “Thanks! I got it through Area of Effect—here’s their card” is plenty.

Each vendor gets a unique code that they can write on our marketing materials.

When someone uses that code at checkout, it tracks the sale back to you. You get credit, and the buyer gets a cool rug—everyone wins.

We offer a standard 10% commission on all rug purchases made with your code after the end of the convention. Payouts are sent out monthly via Venmo. The code will be valid for three months after the end of convention.

If you’d rather not participate in the affiliate side of things, just don’t write your code on the marketing materials we provide. You can still enjoy the rug in your booth—no strings attached.
